A Case for faith based Schools

Updated: Sep 1, 2020

Years ago when the Episcopal Academy was on the Merion Campus, I called the Graduate School of Education at Harvard regarding how schools were handling counseling for students. I had a good conversation with one of the administrators there. I asked him toward that end of our conversation his opinion of the best high school in the United States. There was not a moment’s delay when he said, “Regis High School”, a Jesuit School, in New York City. I then called Regis, told them of the praise that their school received from Harvard and asked to speak with someone who knew what there was about their school that made them so great. During that conversation, the representative said, “We know the Episcopal Academy and have that same kind of feeling toward your school. He asked to visit, and he came to meet with me and other members of our management team.

A friend sent me the article that is below. During this pandemic, the name that always comes to my mind first is Dr. Fauci. He attended Regis. Faith based schools make a difference. I hope that the video at the end of the article will move you and give you hope during this difficult time as it did for me. Pay attention to his last statement. I know our students, parents, and alumni would say the same thing about EA. I know it because I have heard it!
