Mark Carney, Prime Minister of Canada, gave a stirring address at the January 26 World Economic Forum in Davos describing a rupture in the rules-based natural order of things as they now stand.

My son, Thaddeus Squire, describes the nature of the rupture and the way forward in the following essay.

Thaddeus is a graduate of the Episcopal Academy, a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Princeton, and holds degrees from the University of Leipzig as a J. William Fullbirght Scholar and the Mendelssohn Conservatory of Music and Theater.

He is the Founder and CEO Chief Commons Steward at Social Impact Commons and has more than 25 years of experience in the non-profit management field focused on art and cultural heritage.

His organization reaches far into our nation. When Vicki and I were in a remote part of Western Pennsylvania to visit Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic house, Falling Water, we stayed at a B and B. At breakfast the next day the daughter of the owners was serving us breakfast and asked, “Do you know Thaddeus Squire?” We replied, “Yes.” She went on to say that “he was funding her project to bring the arts to the area.”

Reflect on the following essay, Hope Among the Ruins.
